Professional Clinical Counselor Trainee
¡Hola! Hi! My name is Antuaneth Sosa Mejia. I am a bilingual, first-generation Latina trainee currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with an emphasis in College Counseling, at San Francisco State University. I am on the LPCC track.
I am originally from Lima, Peru, where I was born and raised. As an immigrant and woman of color, I have been involved in social justice and mental health advocacy work focused on supporting marginalized communities with care and empathy. I have spent several years working in the mental health field through different initiatives, including facilitating workshops on mental health, immigration grief and adjustment, and culture. I have also supported mi comunidad by providing referrals to individuals in detention centers, mentoring college students, and developing programming for students of color that creates opportunities to foster belonging, career exploration, and professional development.
My goal is to create safe spaces for healing, discovery, and exploration where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I hope to be someone they can trust and with whom they feel seen, heard, and understood throughout their healing and mental health journey.
In my free time, I love spending time with family and friends, going to the beach and connecting with nature, learning about new cultures and foods, traveling, dancing, and going to the gym!
